DIY 6.5 front speakers install on 6.5 Gen (easy way)

Well I didn't see an install for 6.5s on the 6th gen so maybe this will help a few of yall out. I do have a system with an amp and this was my last upgrade. I did it the easy way nothing complex. I did it within 15 minutes on each side. All you need are some basic hand tools and some common sense.

Materials needed
6.5 Speakers with screws and retainers I used Apline typeS Coaxials.
6x9 to 6.5 adapters (fleabay $10)
Screws
Stock Speakers brackets.

Tools
Various screwdrivers
Cutter/Dremmell
Electrical crimper/connectors

Before you begin I will tell you that the front speakers will be ruined if you do this install. They are cheaply made out of paper and is totally crap. But using this methods eliminate having you to make custom brackets of MDF etc. Plus I like doing it this way as the stock housing has a plastic shield that keeps the speaker from getting wet.

Please review this thread on how to remove everything. (Im not taking credit for this)
Radio, Door Panel, Rear Deck & Tweeter removal for CE, LE, SE & XLE DIY; 56k Beware

Once you take the speaker out (either door) you will begin tearing your 6X9. There is no point of return when you do this.

After that go ahead and cut the basket from the rear. I used my garden shears lol.

This is what it should look like after you're done. Notice I did not cut the stock connector off the housing. You will be reusing it to crimp to the new speakers.

Line up the 6x9 to 6.5 bracket. Screw in the 6.5 to the outer part of the housing as shown.

Now everything is lined up connect the speaker wires.

This is what it looks like in the end. You may have to trim a little bit on the bracket to fit the doors correctly. I had to do that to my left side. Otherwise everything should go back in the order of reversed.

Its fairly an easy install, if you have any questions feel free to ask. I do like it much better now that the front does not distort anymore.

Here are some pics of my system (nothing fancy just want some thump) with trunk space. I do not have pics of my rear MB Quart 6X9s as they were dropped right in. I did have to drill an extra hole because toyota stuff never lines up with aftermarket stuff.

Sorry forgot to include my JVC head unit.

Single 10 Kicker Comp

Here is my PG Titanium 500 that runs it all.

you can also just buy the speaker adapters off ebay, that way you don't have to cut the stock ones if you ever want to put them back in when you get rid of your car. thats what i did, regardless nice diy.

In my case here not really, unless you go with higher end components thats where it makes the biggest difference. Since I've already had the alpines I decided to go this way.
