Gen6 calvin's building thread!

Hey guys I just wanted to post some pics of my car since a lot of people have build threads I thought I'd start one for comments/sugggestions. I have a 2010 Camry CE =( but wanted the manual plus it was pretty cheap buy. Got it last may spent a ton of money on it last summer and mods took a stop since ive been broke at school. but hopefully il be working again and can afford more stuff! I drive this thing daily and the roads out here would make coil life tough so as much as I want to prob wont be able to do that =( So lemme know watcha guys think.
Current Mods:
Teins Springs
Magnaflow exhaust
"18 XXRs 522 wrapped in Kumho ( I need some rear spaces =/ )
Yellow Fogs blacked out the chrome
Honeycomb Grille
Blacked out emblems
Debadged
6k DDM HIDs
Blacked out the chrome window frames
Attempted install of SS but failed and ended up just using the shaft/new RL mechanism/metal bushings
35% Front 26% Rear/Back Tint

Future Mods:
New shifter knob first! Then SE Lip, rear bumper (maybe lower gen since i have single exhaust but want the black look of the SE), Rear window sporty looking visor paint matched one. These exterior things I wanna get done first before a sound system, intake etc.

What is the last pick? Your car has a 4 banger and a stick? I didn't know you could get that in a Camry, what kind of Mileage do you get?

oh the last picture is just when i installed the new shifter shaft comparing it to the stock one which i cut and welded out. yea i4 6spd i think these are the only manuals they have even their SE's are i4. i never really done my mileage out simply because i never looked up how many gallons my tank was but i usually get to 445-450 miles untill i need to fill it up completely from E to max. so if u know the gallons there is the math =p

yea i93 is the worst since winter its full of crazy potholes idk how my damn tires even survive that crap. luckily im at school now so i dont have to do much drive.

Paint match the outer part of your grill and it will look 10x better imo.
Get a sound clip of your exhaust too whenever you get a chance

Thanks! How do you think I should do that. I used plasti-dip on the emblems and I love it cause it never chips. But I am not sure if plasti-dip has silver or if it would match the paint. I really don't want to use spray paint cause it chips. You think I should just go to the dealership get touch up paint so i know its a perfect match and just do it that way ?

And I'l be sure to get a sound clip later this week whenever I get a chance. I have finals this week =/

Plasti dip doesnt make a silver I just went to autozone and grabbed a can of silver toyota paint that matched the best to my paint its only for that so it doesnt need to be an EXACT match . A few coats of primer, a few coats of paint and a few coats of clear coat and your good to go! No chipping. I havent had any on mine. I did like 6 coats of each on my emblems.

Hey I like how your car is coming along.

One question, to black out the chrome window frame, did u use plasti dip or the blackout tape?

I have blackout tape, but don't like how it really turned out.

Thanks

yea i did the blackout tape. i actually had to redo two of the windows cause winter got into it and started making it loose and stuff. some rock chips or stuff are scratching it and making the chrome show. i might do the prime-plastidip-clear coat strategy when i finish finals and have more time to do stuff. it would prob last a lot longer i just dont wanna take the window frame off thinking it'd be alot of work

I thought it was too. I'm not 100% positive, I haven't looked into a new shifter/shifter knob for mine yet, so I don't know much about it right now. There's a thread here in the Gen 5/6 Camry section that talks about shift knobs for stick Camrys.

Nice to see I'm not the only CE manual owner here. I installed a Razzi body kit, Katzkin leather, leather & wood steering wheel, HIDs, auto dimming mirror, and keyless entry on my '09. Paid $15k for the car new in '08 and put in maybe $1,500 tops into it (finding deals and doing the work myself). It looks great (like an SE) and I always get 30+MPG combined driving. Can't beat it for under $16.5K. I always get compliments on it and everyone always thinks it's a limited or higher end model.
