New owner, question about rattling

Hello everyone. I am obviously new to the forums, and to Toyota ownership. I bought my first Toyota Saturday, a 2011 Camry XLE. Love the car!

But, as anal retentive as I am, I have been able to find my first issue. I noticed today, when driving over normal cracks/bumps in road, I heard a rattling noise coming from the passengers side. I was able to narrow it down to the passengers seat which appeared to be shaking slightly as I hit bumps. I put my arm/hand on the passengers headrest and the rattling stopped.

I was hoping to find someone here that may be able to point me toward a solution. Could it be the headrest, or maybe the seat itself? Is there something I can tighten that may help?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I hate to state the obvious, but since the car is brand new, bring it back to the dealer and have them check it out.

That may or may not help. I did that for my 2011 LE and the "master technician" couldn't hear it. But! He was telling me of all his cool droid features..

Materials on our cars aren't as quality as they used to be. There's a constant ticking noise in my seat belt area and the front passenger's also. Most likely from a styrofoam piece in the b pillar.

I'll do that if I need to. The dealership where I bought it is an hour away, I was hoping there may be something quick I could try. Thanks for the reply.

If you could isolate the noise to two pieces of plastic rubbing, you can always stick some felt discreetly in between.

It sounds more like metal rattling to me, but I'm going to work on isolating it.

Thanks.

I hate to say it, but rattling of some sort is extremely common on the new Camrys. My own 11 SE has a dash rattle, A pillar rattle, and a B pillar rattle. Sad part is, my 95 Mustang has a lot fewer rattles than the Camry. I could take it into the guys at work, but I know it's probably and endless battle, at least for me.

I'd try to isolate the rattle, and fix it somehow. If it doesn't work and it's driving you bonkers, head back to the dealership.
