2AZ-FE to 2GR-FE swap

Before i start, i want to get some things clear.

1) I will not be buying the 2gr brand new
2) I do have access to a couple 2gr engines which i can get for cheap (however no loom or ECU provided but roughly 40000-60000kms on the clock. KMs NOT miles )
3) I do not want any comments such as "Should of bought a v6 instead" or "save your money for a faster car.
4) I dont want this thread to clog up with useless comments and information.
5) I am a n0ob to engine mods, so my knowledge base about engine components is very minimal. So please take that in mind haha.

Anyway !

What i do want, is knowledgable individuals providing accurate information in regards to engine swaps between the 2az and 2gr or engine swap conversions as a whole. This is my first part of research i am conducting on this engine swap. So what better place to ask in a forum full of toyota enthusiasts!

I know that the camry (2az) and aurion/camry v6 (2gr) share a lot of things in common. But as a starting point to this thread i want to know what type of hurdles i will be encountering when/if i undergo this engine swap or any other issues or points individuals who have conducted engine swaps before have encountered.

Thanks in advance,
Private

I'm not sure how the engine bays are in the gen 6, but for the gen 5s, alot of other things are in different places between the V6 and the i4. So my bet is youre going to have to relocate/replace some stuff like the brake fluid reservoir, coolant reservoir, engine mounts. This is all speculation though on my part, but possible hurdles

fly over all the hurdles and just trade in for a V6. unless you like huddles, bumps, holes, etc etc.

And I remember vaguely that it's cheaper too.... or was that from an automatic to manual. Oh well..

you can try a parts comparison between the two... http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0

The Aurion is basically the Camry with some body mods. You might be better off just removing the body kit and wheels from an Aurion and converting it to a Camry..even though that's exactly what it is.
