Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm looking to drop my 2007 Camry LE 4Cyl. I have a system in the trunk so my back looks lowered. I'm on 225/45/R18s.
I am not certain which brand to go with. I'm deciding between:
H&R - 1.5 front and 1.4 back. I'm leaning towards this.
Tein - 1.6" drop in the front (But Tein has been known to be the softest springs)
Eibach - 1" Front in the Front and 1.5 in the back. A weird drop to me.
Megan Racing - 1.5 front and 1.4 back.
I plan on going with Tokico Shocks. I would also like to hear how the drive is on stock shocks. Yes I know they will eventually leak.
I love the stock ride as it is comfy as hell. I don't want to totally lose that. I know when lowering your ride some comfort will go. With sagging over time, I figure the Tein will be too low.
For those who have dropped their Camry please reply.
I'm currently lowered on tein solara springs that lower 2in all the way around on the stock SE kyb's and the ride is perfect. I also have a system in the trunk but it only weights like 30-40lbs. I would suggest that if you want to keep the good ride quality is to upgrade to the stock SE's shocks since its 20% firmer than the LE's. Since your car already has a ton of miles, i wouldnt suggest installing them on stock since your struts are pretty much done for. If tiens are too low for you, i would suggest H&R since they dont sag in the rear like the eibachs and trd's.

Tein Solara Springs on KYB GR2's
i went with H&R springs on stock struts on my 09 camry le and i also have a system in the trunk it weighs like 90lbs all together including the sub and box, it sits lower in the back for me because of that, you can check out my car domain link. As for the ride quality it didn't change that much but u can feel some little bumps, but the handling is def better when turning, the car is more flat and doesn't lean as much. I also have the UR strut bar installed.

Lol 62500 miles is a ton of miles? I think you've mistaken 100,000KM for miles. Even then, 100k miles isn't a lot. Those struts are good to at least 150k I believe. I'm at 160k and my car's struts are fine no leaks/no clunking. Shoot, BlackG5 had springs on his gen5 and it had more miles than me....I think all the OP needs are springs. Eibach are pretty good springs, I love 'em on my gen 5. Idk how they are on a gen 6 though.
I have a 09 camry se 4cylinder and I installed tein springs on my se stock shocks to tell you the truth I love it, good handling, no scrapping and I live in NJ where there;s really bad roads and it doesnt sag. But I do expect to take them out before the winter.

Didn't wanna hijack the thread but I'm looking to lower my camry as well. What do you mean by sag? With the extra weight from your system?
Perhaps I should have stated do some brands have a stiffer spring rate in the back to reduce or elminiate sag? I was looking at the TRD springs, that's why.

It's the nature of the beast. Some spring set ups, just tend to run lower in the rear or "sag"
That being said.
If you have the V6...TRD or Eibach(same thing) will be fine, If you have the I4..stay away. Or you will see the sag as mentioned.
H & R or Tein springs, are the weapons of choice around these parts.
I have 20" Lexani's riding on 225/35 with a 40+ offset. The front looks higher, stock. Leaning towards H&R Springs because it's a tad lower of a drop in the front opposed to the Eibach which has a half inch more of a drop in the back. The car would look retarded if I went that way. Sorry I forgot to mention, my ride is the 6cyl 07 SE.
Anyone hear if the H&R's are an o.k. ride and worth the $300? I definitely don't want to go spending on coils, just stupid money for a 4-door. I'm not even racing for that matter so Springs should do the part for that nice look and better handling.
