Have you checked the oil level? Not being rude, just asking.

If you haven't had the oil changed in accordance with the Toyota maintenance schedule or if you have used poor quality oil, you could have a sludge problem. Have someone wiggle the connector for the oil pressure sending unit and see if the light flashes. Regards

I did that once too. A quick sharp turn and the light blinked. Just had my oil changed, ran home and checked it all. Oil was clean and full. It never happened again.

So I am assuming it was nothing, or a sensor being thrown off by crazy turn. I too, have an '07 4 cyl. If everything looks good and it never happens again, it's probably nothing to loose sleep over.

I wouldn't worry too much....cars are funny like this. If I hit the brakes hard in my husband's 2000 Maxima his ABS light pops on for about 2 seconds and then turns off. The ABS works fine and the brake fluid is good, no problems. Just one of those fun electrical glitches.

That suppose to happen. ABS = Anti-lock Break System. And I think the ABS blinks when it's doing it. It's no glitch.

But this oil light... even if it's a glitch it's still best to check it out.

Your are losing oil pressure during the hard braking and tight turns ( oil is sloshing away fron your oil pick up) and if it happens consistantly then you have a problem and need to look further .

What is the history of the car ? How many miles ?

Is the engine sludgy/ dirty inside ( open valve cover)?

Usual causes are, low oil, partialy blocked/cracked / loose oil pick up. If the engine was run low on oil before,

you could have excessive bearing clearances that only show up then. I would pull the oil pan and take a look. I would also check the oil pressure with a gauge.

No, the braking isn't hard enough to activate the ABS and the light that comes on in the Maxima is the warning light telling you that the ABS has been disabled momentarily. Trust me, we've been over this with the techs at Nissan a time or two, and over on the Maxima forum it's apparently a "common" thing for the 2000's, as they're the first year of that body style.

^ really? I did test this on my mom's Maxima. Doing about 50mph and slam on the brake, the car slow right away and ABS turn on blinking for a few seconds and stop when the car come to almost complete stop.

Yeah. I was talking a hard brake, not a SLAM on the brake where it locks up. Hard brake as in your typical harder brake on a city highway when someone cuts you off, not a slam on the brake as in you try to avoid hitting a deer or something.
