5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just did a round trip from New Jersey to Georgia and back. my 2005 camry with 125K miles did fantastic. she held up like a super star doing min 85 mph to at times 95/100 mph on the interstates of I-77, I-81, I-20, I-95, etc.
that engine and tranny is great. they do make the best cars hands down the Japs can make a great car. I mean hours of doing high speeds, great brakes, dodging high speed trucks, etc. and she is "old" but in my book she is my queen for life.
you know what i mean. I Love Camry.

6 years old? Your car is barely broken in.
I don't see anything super human about it. Highway driving places less stress on the drivetrain than stop and go traffic does.

And so far just on the trip down and crusing around here i have but 1300miles on with no engine issues. I think it'll be around 950-1000 miles to get back home!
thats freakin solid... I think the most I've ever done was around 35.2 going to New Jersey and back--- my problem is it takes so much throttle to keep up with traffic lol, those 150 ponies gotta work hard!!
I don't get it... a 6 year old car with 125k miles doesn't seem like something that should be breaking down. Neither age in years or mileage seem very extravagant.
I used to have a 7 year old I4 with 80k miles or so that ran just fine until I broadsided a F-150 ran the stop sign.
I remember while driving thru Virginia and North Carolina, which are long states, doing like 90 mph for about two hours straight with my 05 camry with over 120k miles. again, that engine performed like brand new! it rode like a brand new car at those high speeds. how do they do it? such a simple car yet so powerful?
