sorry bout this
not sure if theres a thread alreadi for brake problems but
ill start it anyways.
i just got new pads right.
its like those 30-40 dollars at autozone for front only (4sets of pads) ..
got it replaced by me and my buddy at my house
thing is..my old oem one..doesnt squeel at all but i know that i have to be replaced..and now! with the new one..its squeel as a B5555! lol idk why.its loud and annoying
and also...everytime i clean the wheels.after 2 days or so...black brake dust all over my wheels man!
you might want to check the shims again. mine squeeked like a Biotch until I realized one of the shims was crooked on the pad.. also make sure there is plenty of brake goop between the pad and shims and caliper..

Not to sound like an idiot but what is brake goop?
My new brakes squeek like a Biotch too.
CRC makes a brake caliper grease suitable for the pad shims. You want to thoroughly coat the pad backing plate and also the interface between the inner and ourter shim. I squeeze the grease out on the backing plate in a few places and then use an old nail file to distribute the grease. You don't want an excwssive amount of grease all over the place when greasing brake disc pad shims. While we are discussing disc brakes, does anyone know of a source for caliper hardware kits? I would like to replace the slide pins, pin boots, pad support plates and the slide pin bushing used on the lowere pins. Can these items be purchased as a kit or do yo have to buy each item?
However, it's probably the brake pads you installed. I'd recommend Akebono ProAct ceramic pads. These are OEM, along with the NBK pads IMO that's not worth your time to install, that the dealer sells. Just depends on the lowest bidder for the batch.

For what car?
Most of the online toyota dealerships will sell the pad support plates, the pad shims, and the rubber parts for the caliper (pin dust boots, piston boot, bleeder cap), as individual kits. Unfortunately the slide pins and slide pin bushings may not come as a kit, so you may have to purchase them separately. depends on the car of course.
Check out toyotapartseast.com, should have part numbers and diagrams of what you need.

yup, if they're not ceramic pads they will dust and squeal much more than ceramics. I would definitely go with Akebono ProAct ceramic pads as mentioned above; they've got good stopping power and don't dust a lot.
