Mine failed at about 58K miles under warranty. The dealer said that it is a very common issue. I recommend that any 2007-2011 Camry owner keeps an eye out for pink coolant leaks under the hood, especially as you approach the end of your powertrain warranty.
Or maybe the 5-year pink coolant isn't doing its job? Dunno. IMO the original red, even if only good for 2 years, is a better coolant.
The Toyota pink coolant is a similar type of coolant as the GM Dexcool (OAT). I am on my second replacement water pump for my I4 Camry at 60,000 miles. On a previous Buick LeSabre with Dexcool, I had to replace the water pump twice within about 3 years and 50,000 miles, then I flushed out the Dexcool and replaced it with the green/gold Prestone Longlife coolant. After that the waterpump and the rest of the cooling system gave me no problem and was good when I got rid of the car at 10 years and 165,000 miles. I am again thinking that the Camry pump failures are being caused by incompatibility between the coolant and the water pump pump seals. Not sure at this point if the Camry water pump fails again whether I will change the coolant to Prestone or try another brand of water pump. Any suggestions?
I have an 07 4 cylinder Camry with 38K miles, and just had my waterpump replaced under warranty this week. It was weeping ,leaving pink crystals on the bottom side of the water pump, but never a drop of coolant on the floor. I would have to add a quart of water every now and then. I also had the tell tale pink stripe on the underneath side of the hood on the lining, where the leaking coolant gets slung up there.
They replaced the water pump, long life coolant , and also the accessory drive belt ( at my request) for $44 total. Couldn't beat the price, but I too am wondering about the short water pump life.

38K is about the same mileage as when my original water pump failed on my 2007 I4 Camry. It was also replaced under warranty with a Toyota water pump. Hopefully, the water pump you received has been improved.
not about water pump but question but about coolant reservoir its seems mine is always low do i have to worry about this? also sometimes i see coolant sprays underneath the hood let me know what you guys think?
