2009 Camry CE

Looking to purchase one

the dealer is asking for $15K

I figured I'd start negotations at $13K and would be OK at paying up to $14K, or is $15K fair?

The car has under 20000 miles on it

Wow, nice, so it sounds like $15K is already a bargain, maybe I'll keep that lowball offer of $13K but even if worst comes to worst, just cough up the $15K?

Well if you want to pay $13K start bargaining lower than that. If you are willing to pay the $15K don't tell them that. Also point out obvious discrepancies. e.g. There is a dent here, the hub caps are scuffed, the seats have a stain, it isn't certified. Sometimes they will fix this stuff for free before you take it home or set up an appointment for you to come back and they will fix it. It doesn't sound like much, but if a hub cap costs 75 dollars, that's actually 75 dollars you have knocked off the price. If you have to leave and tell them you are going to see what Dealer B is offering. This also works good if you give them your number to start off with. They will usually call you back to work something out. Remember, they want your money more than you want this car.

I don't know about PA but in DFW TX $19900 will get you 2011 LE.
15-16K-used 2010 LE.
zip code makes difference.
look up trade value on this car, minus $500-700 -that what they own it for.
they will sell it $500-600 over there cost.

p.s. CE should be $700-800 cheaper than LE.

I agree with that, I only paid $16,988 for my 2009 LE. I realize that it was a great deal that is why I went new. I just couldn't pass it up when they wanted 11-15k for a 2006 used Camry. I would wait and see what sales they have. I guess it might be a thing of the past though with the Tsunami and all.
