5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I haven't been on TN much lately... I've had my 2011 Camry for over 6 months and it has less than 3,000 miles cause it's been sitting at the airport almost every week this year. Needless to say, I've been busy. I finally got around to retrofitting the headlights, so here is the progress I made today.
Parts, so far:
TYC aftermarket SE headlights
E55 Single-Xenon Projectors
ZKW-r clear lenses (from TRS)
Projector cut-off shield painted blue... Projectors mounted in both headlights... I just need to install in the car to check level and rotation, then I can bake them back together. I'll post more pics after they're completed.

Looking good John, glad to see you finally got around to doing it. I see you like the blue painted shields, lol. Can't wait to see the output pics and more progress.
is it just second gen.6.5 retro?
Could you please take measurements of the mounting holes for projector?
Distance between inner and outer top ones and bottom once.
And also distance between top holes and bottom holes.
waiting for cut off pics!

Gonna look sick! Props, I can only hope to do this one day.
It's not as hard as you'd think, you just have to plan it out before you start cutting.

Thanks! It took 4 retrofits on my Gen6 to figure out what I like, so I'm trying to put it all together into just one retrofit for my Gen6.5.

Someone on TN used RX-AFS for the first Gen6.5 retrofit. I haven't seen any others. It doesn't surprise me. The Gen6.5 projectors aren't that bad. Plus there aren't many good spare headlights on ebay, and it takes alot of guts to just go cutting into $300 headlights without spares. I bought new aftermarket headlights to retrofit because I wanted nice clean headlights and all the ebay ones were junk or overpriced.
OEM Projector: top mounting holes are 46mm, bottom are 75mm.
Do you just want a projector? I can ship one to you.
The lenses are smaller than the ZKW's and E55's. They are like 72mm instead of 80mm.

They were an easy fit, plus the E55s have lots of holes to help with mounting since the OEM mounting holes don't line up at all. Key is getting it centered so it will be center in the shroud hole.
I hacked up my junk LE headlight to figure out how to mount it. I got both projectors mounted in one afternoon since I had each cut and hole planned.

Maybe this coming weekend... I have to check rotation and level before I bake them back together... The E55's have a much longer sloped cut-off step and the ZKW-r's have nice blue/purple color in the middle.
I got my retrofit test fit on the car finished, rotation was spot on but needed leveled. Here are some pictures of the cut-off. Now I need to clean up the lenses and bake back together.

Great Job, where did you get your e55 projectors? I have been contemplating a retrofit like this to my Gen 6.5 SE, also whats your opinion on using bi-xenon projectors and just removing the solenoid?

I bought these single-xenon projectors off ebay several years ago at a price that was just ridiculous not to buy (less than $50 shipped). I figured I would use them one day.
thanks, that's a great recommendation i will give it some thought since I already have bi-xenon projectors, "purchased them off Ebay back in 04 for my 4Runner but never got around to installing them". I havent seen to many 3" single xenon projectors before.
