Hey guys, I will be installing my Tein lowering springs this weekend and I was wondering do i need to cut the bump stop? The instructions that came with the Tein Suggest that I need to cut it about an inch.. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

When I installed my solara tein springs i did not cut my bump stops. The reason is that i rather hit the bump stops more than damaging my shocks by having it compress more than its suppose to and have it shorten the life. I may be wrong but thats how i see it so i left it.

I don't think the guys cut mine when they installed my Eibach.

And I don't think u should cut it cause they're the ones that will prevent your car car from bottoming out.

Dn't cut them. You're not lowering your car that much with lowering springs to even worry about it bottoming or anything like that unless you're offroading with it lol. and like a previous poster said better to hit the bumpstop than the alternative thats what theyre there for.

They all creak in the beginning regardless of bump cutting our not. The metal in the springs have to settle under the weight shifting of the car. And what makes you "love" it? What are you comparing it to?

I actually stated that before in another post regarding this topic, so ya I know there will be some creaks and what not when you first install them as they are settling. I am talking about after settling and an alignment, when I go over speed bumps in the neighborhood roads I don't hear it bumping or grinding up into my struts. I compared it to my friend's Honda Accord who had it dropped but didn't cut the bump stops, and according to him, and what I have heard riding in the car, he gets a thump sound going over bumps and big pot holes.

As far as me loving it, I compare it to my stock springs and how they felt and sounded. The ride is a little more bumpy being centered to the ground a bit more, but overall still feels pretty smooth like stock, and unlike my friend's car, I am not hearing any bumping grinding going on.

I should note too that I have not tried another camry v6 with different springs and a full bump stop, so no, I do not have a direct comparison, merely saying, I am happy with what I did to my ride.

Hope that helps?
