DIY: Aux Install

Hey everyone,

So, the iTrip I was using in my car to connect my iPhone broke AGAIN!!! So it got me thinking, is there a better solution to just buying a $55 iTrip every couple months? So, I went on eBay and stumbled onto this, it's an aux cable which plugs into your stock radio, no wire cutting required. Now a little about the kit, it costed about $80, which is a lot better than buying the iTrip's over & over; & like I said, it plugs right into the back of your stock stereo & it only takes about 15-20 mins to install. It was meant to be put in the glove box (hence the extremely short aux cable that comes w/it). Now, I took pictures for those of you who may want to see how I did it.

This is how big the box is...

You are going to start by taking the HVAC contraols out 1st...

Enjoy!!!!

Hey, thanks. I am putting a link for mine on the bottom. Mine is the 12 pin cable, but if you go to eBay & search "Toyota AUX x-pin", (count the pins on the back of your car & put it in for the x), you can find other ones. Or you can just search "Toyota aux", you should be able to find it.

I'll leave a note for those with a Gen 5.5 that has Sat capability. There's a module that you can plug in to the headunit that turns the SAT functionality into AUX

http://www.pie.net/index.php?page=sh...mart&Itemid=40

Steps are pretty much the same way Camry1999 did.

Just stick a flat head screw driver about 1/2 way around the curve & carefully pry it out. They are just two clips on each side.
