You failed to mention the size of fuse that they are destroying. I hope if you are using bulbs rated at 55 watts that you are running them from a relay. You can temporarily increase the fuse size only to turn them on and see what it takes to not blow, but put them back to stock for obvious fire and safety reasons. If in fact they are actually drawing more than 55 watts, then the heat dissipation will likely destroy the housing, so be careful. A 35 watt setup is much more prudent.
