Hey, my 2008 camry v6 se , check engine light comes on when gas tank is 1/3 full, it self resets after two days, then comes back on if I have not filled up the tank. Will stay off untill i reach 1/3 tank or less.

Yes, I did, it is tighter than the one click it says to tighten.
If I fill up the tank all the way, and tighten the gas cap like normal all thease 48,000 miles and then this starts happening after a full fill up and then the light comes on when I am down to 1/3 of a tank. Same hand tightening the gas cap all the last three years.
can a gas cap go bad?

Any ideas?
You have noticed a pattern to the problem.
But you need to get the code to verify the problem and you might be looking at the wrong system and the pattern just might be a coincidence....

"Kinda Hard to ID in a Parking Lot"
The car is at the dealer, I have a estimate of $140 to diagnose that would be forgiven if propblem is under warrenty.
My 36, 36,000 is expired, but I still am covered on the power train and major cost emission control in california.
California Emissions Warranty –
Under the California Emissions Warranty, vehicles certified for sale in California, and those states like Vermont that have adopted California Emissions Standards by law, have additional coverage beyond that required under Federal law. Under the California Emissions Warranty, all emissions related parts are covered for 3 years or 50,000 miles*, and a vehicle-specific list of more expensive emissions related parts is covered for 7 years or 70,000 miles*. In addition, the 8 year or 80,000 mile* coverage for the catalytic converter and engine control unit required by Federal law also applies.
I was charged $140 at TOYOTA MARIN for diagnostic.
They say it code po161 and recommend changing oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 2 heater curcuit failure . repair estimate $310
That part of the emmision control is only covered 3years or 50,000 miles.
So I am out of luck there.
In hind sight if I had known it would not be covered under warrenty. I could have taken the car to Japan motors down the street and could have gotten it fixed for less as they do not charge seperate for diagnostic.
yes, i could have bought a scan tool for that price.
onward, were exactly is the sensor , bank 2 sensor 2?
On the 2GR-Fe V6 Bank 2 is the front side closest to you and the sensor you can see from under the hood- That is sensor 1, but you need sensor 2. Sensor 2 is down underneath in the pipe. Probably have to remove skid plate to see it. If i remember right bank 1 sensor 2 is also down near the same place but it is in the pipe that goes to the rear Bank (Bank 1)
Not too bad at all if you have basic tools and pickup an o2 sensor tool, save yourself another $100 labor, then go to autozone etc have them clear the code or just disconnect battery for a minute. Good luck
