5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I briefly tried to change out the air filter on my 2003 V6 Camry. I unscrewed the two bolts, but then all the other stuff connected to the top did not allow for enough room to slide in the air filter. Is there a DIY thread somewhere with my engine-year vehicle?
I'm talking about the engine filter. My camry is a V6, there's alot more stuff attached to the top of the air filter housing. That video I think is for the 4 cylinder.
like i said undo the bolts, and use your muscle... i have a V6 too and mine was a pain to change. I now have a custom intake so i don't really have that problem.
I remove the small hoses attached to the vacuum reservoir on the hinged side of the lid to facilitate removing/replacing the filter element. Good to see you are doing the PM work on your car. Replacing oil and filters is the best thing you can do to ensure many miles of trouble free service from your car. Regards
Got it! Thanks..you were right, just need to be muscled a bit more. Clean filter is in.
make sure all sides of the air filter box is in, its crazy but last week someone i know had their MAF sensor clogged because the airbox was loose and debris got in there...stuck on the highway for hours and had to get towed!
