Reprogramming a used smart key for an '09 Camry

First off I just want say hello to everyone on this great forum. I've been visiting here a lot to look up stuff and I must say that this is the best forum that I've came across online.

So I just bought a used '09 Camry which only came with one smart key and a valet and wanted to get another smart key to keep as a spare in case of emergency but don't feel like spending $300 at my local dealership to get a new one. So I wanted to know if it's possible to REprogram a previously programmed transponder in a used original (Denso) key to my car.
What I'm thinking of doing is swapping the transponder to a new shell with an uncut key, cut the key, and reprogram that transponder to my car. The used key has the same FCC & IC ID on the back and looks exactly the same as mine.

The reason I wanna do this is because I don't wanna buy a generic, after-market new key w/ transponder because I can't really trust it's quality, so I'd rather reprogram an original used one instead.

Thanks in advance!
Mark.

Get an OEM one from ebay for like $35.00 bucks and have the dealership reprogram it. My sister put my pants in the washer whit my keys still in them I got a used smart key on ebay for $35 and $85 for the programing in the dealership.

Thanks for the reply! So you bought a used key and the dealer was able to program it for you? Did you swap the actual key/shank with a new uncut key & shell and use the transponder from the key that you purchased from eBay?
