5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was ready for a new car to replace my 2005 Camry SE. After shopping for a new car for a week I was so close to pulling the trigger on a super nice 2008 Infinity G35 with 13,000 miles on it. Closer then I ever was to buying a car while still walking away. I think the only reason I did walk was because I had an appointment with my local Toyota dealer the next day to look at the Camry. I hadn't driven the gen 6 Camry yet.
Long story short, I went to the appointment and 2 hours later drove off in my new 2011 Camry SE I4. The Camry just felt like home when driving it. Overall I think the better value $$$ wise was the Infinity and I gave up some nice features and power but I was just so comfortable driving the Camry that I knew I would be happier with it then the G35 overall. And I would also save $$$ on gas.
So here it is...
I managed to make a deal with my dealer to keep my 18" wheels I had on my old Camry and I let them take the stock 17's.
Tein springs are on the way, Borla exhaust is on the way, and I thnk I'll go with a strut bar and tint next and that will be all for now.
I'm jealous...
Did you knock anything from asking price?
How much?
I’m waiting for 2012, but 2011 models already priced sweet.
If they going to drop prices even more 2011 will be much better buy.

Nice car! Love the rims!
One question....WHY does everyone spell it "Infinity"? That's the car audio company, not the luxury brand of Nissan. They spell it "Infiniti".
Okay, end rant

Sorry, I know... it was just a typo, I'm used to just typing and not thinking first... I should have known better as I spent about 3 days researching and looking at various Infiniti G35's and 37's... And that new G25 is nice as well. My bad...

This was the only SE the dealer had so they didn't want to discount but since I'm a repeat customer of 3x in the last 10 years and I get service there too he was willing to work with me a lot. I went in knowing how much I wanted to pay and he got real close.
On paper I got it for $21K and change, but in reality it was closer to $23K. Saved on some taxes and fees due to some tricks used for my trade in (he dropped the sell price more but gave me less for trade).
Decent deal overall but not the best I've done before.
If it was a manual coupe, and if your still a young guy with no family, I woudve jumped on that deal. RWD is so much fun. Gas with these prices would be no fun though.
Silver is a really nice color on the Camry too btw.

It's okay, I'm not mad I just see a TON of people do it, and I don't know why

I know, I could not believe it myself. It was a 3 year lease owned that drove an average of 5K/year. It was the sedan auto. Still fun to drive.
