2002 Window Troubleshooting

Could anyone give me some insight as to determining the problem with my driver side window?

The window rolls up and down, but the window eventually tilts forward, sending the nose of the window down, and the back of the window up (apologies if this isn't a good explanation).

I removed the door panel to see if the problem would be apparent, but I am unfamiliar with window systems.

Are there some specific things to look for that can narrow down the possible problems?

Thanks!

Let me bump this cause Im having the same issue with my drivers side.

Before when it rolled up or down, it would make a clunk when changing directions. Now the window pivots clockwise when rolling up. Im thinkin a guide or something similar broke. Havent open my panel yet but will get to it soon.

Please post your result if and when you get it fixed

sounds like the window regulator is broken, or an attachment point for the window has broken or gotten loose. The regulator looks like a scissor jack kind of device that the window and the window motor is attached to, see the below picture:

Thanks for your pic. Finally got the panel off and noticed the bolt for the rear guide was gone. It fell in the bottom of door. But I think I need new guides cause the glass still moves alittle when rolling up.
Hope the op got his fixed.

no problem. it's probably gotten loose/damaged from that bolt being missing... i would honestly just get a new window regulator, they're relatively cheap. $50 give or take on rockauto.com.

I have a similar problem with my passenger side window. The goes up and rotates a little as the same spot each time and when it gets to the top, it goes into the seal tries to rotate back into position but doesn't seal completely. If I let it up and down quickly, it seals better. I just had the regulator changed at Carmax but, I still have the same problem.

try lubricating the rubber window guides with silicon spray. the window is probably sticking in the guides.

no problem! you may want to check that the bolts for the window/regulator are tight as well. Raj49 posted above that one was found loose, and had the same/similiar issue.
