I am changing the oil in my 2011 Camry for the first time. The black plastic housing that holds the filter has an 'el - shaped' clip mounted along the side of it. What is this clip and what should I do with it. Thanks

Not sure what clip you're talking about (I don't remember seeing one in mine). You shouldn't have to do anything with it anyway. Just pop out the filter and O-ring, pop in the new ones, and away you go.
