Gen5 Transmission slipping? (06 V6 SE)

If i'm going real slow, like 10 mph, and i hit the gas sometimes i will hear the car respond but for maybe a half second or so nothing will really happen, then it will all of a sudden go. Is this a case of my 'transmission slipping' or what seems to be the problem?

Thanks

^ it's an auto.

What RPM's does it happen at? I had the same sort of thing happen to me... and when i would start the car forward the car would hesitate and the RPM would drop from 2000 to 1500 then jump back up and go.

It had nothing to do with the transmission. The EGR valve was stuck. Once i replaced it, everything was fine. So it may only be that.

That is what it seems like, it happens it low RPMs if im moving real slow and try to hit the gas a little it will hesitate and then eventually go.

Also sometimes if im going like 20 it will jerk, follwed by a sudden drop in RPMs and then pick back up

That is what mine did. Have the EGR valve checked... or get a hammer, and lightly tape it all around, that breaks up the carbon.. then drive and see if it hesitates again. It's a fairly easy and cheap fix to replace it though.
