Electric Trunk Release Motor

I hooked up a new keyless entry system to my 2002 Toyota Camry LE and for whatever reason I couldn't get the trunk to open keylessly. I figured out that the motor on the trunk latch isn't set up for keyless entry. I have it connected properly as i get a (-) signal, as I should, through the 'blue/white' wire whenever I press the trunk release on the keyless remote. Upon further investigation I noticed that there is only 1 pin coming out of the trunk release motor which is not connected to the blue/white wire.

I found this image, which is exactly what I'm looking for on a forum post by dz63 at DIY: 2002 Camry Trunk Light Repair Procedure . I've modified it slightly in order to show what I need.

The arrows point to the actual motor I need, where as the "semi-highlighted" redish circle shows that it has 2 pins rather than 1 which is what mine has.

I have been looking for the last 3 days both online and locally at autoparts stores and I cannot find the replacement motor to make this work. All the wiring is set up and working properly all I need is the right trunk release actuator/motor. If anyone knows of anywhere I can find one I would appreciate it. I've tried contacting the local Toyota dealer and they weren't much help. I would prefer to just buy the motor but if I have to buy the entire latch assembly then so be it. Thanks.

Generally, the trunk pops, manual or electric, are different.

You have to get the whole latch including the actuator.

google " camry trunk actuator" to purchase one.

The trunk triggers are generally 12+volt trigger NOT negative trigger. you may find negative triggers on luxury line like Lexus or Acura.

Check bulldogsecurity.com for detail diagram of your vehicle.

From everything I've read and researched the 2002 Camry LE requires a (-) from the sending unit. Everything I saw on bulldogsecurity and the 12volt forum has said this. I even sent an email to bulldogsecurity and they told me this was the way to wire it.. I figured I would have to get the entire latch assembly which isn't a big deal. However, I have searched everywhere for toyota trunk actuator, toyota trunk solenoid, trunk latch, trunk lock assembly, trunk release, etc, etc, etc and have found absolutely nothing. I noticed today however that lexus es300 of the same year uses the same latch assembly so that's my next step.. Hopefully I can find one for less than $250..

gen5 trunk required 5-wire relay setup, aka reverse polarity. The power going to the trunk is positive with ~15A fuse.

The sending unit will have a low current (-) trigger that will be driving the trunk actuator via a relay.

AGAIN, GOOGLE FOR "CAMRY TRUNK ACTUATOR"

The average price for those thing on the net is 40bucks. I have seen honda actuators for 25bucks. cheap stuff.
