if they are relatively small holes, and you're not looking for an expensive fix... you could certainly use bondo or epoxy (JB Weld, available at your local home depot) to fill in the holes and go over it with the touch up paint. may not look the best, but certainly doable.
if you go the epoxy route, go with the regular JB Weld. tape up the holes from the inside of the housing (so JB Weld doesn't drip everywhere and you get a nice flat surface on the inside as a result), then put the JB Weld in the holes. put a little extra so it overflows, then use a razor or a credit card to scrap the excess off so that it's flush with the surface. sets in 6 hours, so don't touch it until then. cures in 24 hours, you can sand and put touch up paint on the patches then. if you're rushed, you can use JB Kwik, but that stuff sets in 4 - 5 min... not much working time and is not as strong as JB Weld.
personally though, that kind of fix would drive me crazy even if it managed to look decent. i'd definitely would have to get new housings to have peace of mind
