2007 Camry XLE JBL Bass Distortion

Our Camry has the premium JBL system with the amp under the passenger seat. Any song regardless of source that has a lot of bass drives both rear speakers into distortion. Treble and mid and bass settings are on zero. Even when bass is set on -2 or -3, I still hear significant distortion especially when playing something like Queen, Enya, or anyone with a lot of bass. Problem is there whether Aux input, CD or FM. Someone suggested adjusting gain on amp. How do I do that? And isn't it a stretch to think that would make any difference? Is the amp the most likely source of the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I also have the JBL system in my newly bought 2010 Camry SE certified pre-own which i got just last month. I do noticed that I have to lower my bass when i listen to hip-hop/rap because it starts to sound muddled or it just seems the song is over bearing when I turn up the volumn. I just figured it couldn't handle it. Maybe it's blown??

If it is blown shouldn't this be covered on my Certified warranty to replace the speakers?

After closing inspecting my rear speakers which I thought were blown, it seems to turn out that the distortion and rattling sounds I hear are not from the speakers themselves but from the rear deck. I noticed the plastic covers over the child restraint hooks were rattling with heavy bass and so I flipped the cover open and it seemed to help a little. But the rear deck still vibrates and rattles.

Would you guys recommend I use Dynomat to help with the annoying rear deck rattling?

I stopped my rear deck rattling with $7.00 of material from my local home center. My contraptions go under the child restraint hooks and push DOWN on the plastic rear deck. To do this you will need some steel braces like these:

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-ha...128-c-9708.htm

One of these goes at the bottom against the plastic, and another at the top under the restraint hook.

In between the braces, you stack layers of these:

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-ha...349-c-9690.htm

This is fairly dense foam that has a nice firm compression. You will need to cut with scissors, same size as braces. I simply kept adding layers until I could not easily add more when compressing what was there. When you think your sandwich is full, push down on the top brace and slip one more piece of rubber in there.

One last thing for the Toyota Engineers: HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME. YOU FLUNKED THIS TEST.

I lifted up the back dash and threw in a couple layers of dense sheet foam, and some small rubber pads between the 3rd brake light and the rear windshield, stopped all vibration from the back deck lid. As for the child seat restraint covers, i just used two strips of electrical tape on each cover and just taped down the sides of the cover, and it stops the covers from vibrating.

Thanks for your guys help!! I'm going to try and see what I can do. Glad to know it's just not my car and a blown speaker but sucks this seems to be common in the 6.5 gen. Just a bad design by Toyota considering the extra bass our JBLs put over stock speakers.

For a second (since I haven't checked them out yet), let's assume the speakers are history. I think Toyota gets upwards of $250 each for the rear deck speakers. Has anyone had any experience with other speakers? The last time I looked, Crutchfield had nothing to offer.
