2009 Camry w/ More Gas Problems (2011)?

I have not seen any 2011 postings on this topic... so here goes.

My wife's 2009 Camry was involved in the recall of 2009 Camrys w/ sticking gas pedals. The Camry did have a couple of incidents between 2009-2010. We received the offical recall letter from Toyota.I took the car to the dealer and had the car fixed.

Or was it truely fixed? Last week our 2009 Camry lunged forward, as my wife came to a stop in front of the garage, and hit garbage dumpsters. The car was about to come to a complete stop when it lunged forward.

I can not find any recent offical Toyota or Forum postings on this. Does anyone know if 2009 Camrys are still having gas pedal issues?

Thanks,
StCassel

I don't have any gas pedal issue both before and after the applied TSB. In fact, recent findings said that drivers in those accidents were stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, and the drivers are in old age. I think your wife might feel the car's downshift which lunged forward.

I have always placed the gear selector into N when I stop and then apply the parking brake and then put it in Park. This precludes the flimsy parking pawl in the AT from carrying the weight of the car. Also prevents car from accidently making a new opening in the back of the garage. Has worked for over 50 years with no incidents.

i never had a problem either before or after the TSB. I just think it's operator error.

x2 I think your wife might feel the car's downshift which lunged forward.)on this because i feel it on my car too...

I sometimes feel a lunge on downshift, but haven't had an issue with the pedal either. My parents owned it from new to 76,000, I've owned it for the next 12,000 without issue. The recall was done though.
