Check Engine???

My wife drives at 2007 Camry LE. The "Check engine" light just came on today. I tried to start the car and it did start but it sounded like the battery was a bit slow in turning over the engine. The car has 31.000 miles on it. Comments???

Find someone who will pull the code and tell you what the problem was. I see you are in California so it is more challenging to find someone to do it for free, but it is possible. If the battery is original, then it is likely due. I replaced mine before it died because I am not fond of surprises, and they tend to occur at inopportune times. I have doubts that a low battery was enough to cause a mil, but who knows?

Thanks for the input.....I'll have the code checked. This is my first Toyota so I wasn't sure if a tired old battery could cause a "check engine" event. It is the original battery.

You probably should look at replacing that battery anyway.

It's probably on its last leg.
