Air cabin filter change help

hey guys,
im changing the air cabin filter on my camry 04 v6. I took out the old one, and it's about an inch longer than the new one. Do they have to be the same lengths?

it'll probably fit but it's an inch or so shorter.

the filters are shaped like this:

lllllllllllllllllllllllll with the lines meaning the bended lines of the filter. I don't want to try to fit it in because I'm afraid of getting it dirty and then unable to return it.

I have a 2004 Camry V6.What brand are you using? I have used both the Toyota filter and the Fram filter and they fit the frame with no problem. Do you have the right filter for your application? Wix and Purolator also make cabin air filter.

I bought a purolater filter, apparently the one they listed under the toyota camry was the wrong fit, so they gave me the one for some lexus models and it fit.

I bought it at pepboys. What is the fram filter?

Thanks guys for the responses

Walmart carries the Fram cabin air filters. I noticed that their catalog specs the filter for the 04 Camry for only the XLE but it fits the LE also. In fact,I think the cabin filter fits any 03 to 06 regardless of the trim line. Glad you got the confusion straightened out. Regards
