Leaving advice and asking for help...
Single External drives work great through my USB port, sticks and portables.
Bluetooth streaming from the Touch and usb external drives can be used at the same time. I have a 4th gen Ipod Touch, and it pairs up and sounds great through the Bluetooth, but with no data display. When the Touch is hooked into the USB port, the voice command on the touch does not work and the ipod screen shows no data. What hurts is that the Bluetooth mike will not forward commands to the Ipod. Questions: Can the software for the bluetooth be upgraded to provide voice command from the Camry mike to the Ipod Touch?
How would this upgrade software be installed? Finally has anyone had success with adding a USB hub to the USB port to provide more inputs?
Thanks!
Andy

sad to say there is no software update to make it work.

Found the USB port on the 2011 Camry will only accept folders with less than 255 entries. 16 gb PNY USB stick's work great format FAT32, Wallyworld has them for about $16.50. External hard drives need to be formatted FAT32, and a special program needed to format drives beyond 32gb, FAT32FORMATTEREN worked for me on a 320gb Western Digital Passport (free program). 65k song limit at 10MB per song, makes the upper end for a portable hard drive 650gb. The Sandisk 32gb Cruzer (and I suspect other Sandisk products also) does not work, even formatted FAT 32.
The limit is not on stick size as much as the FAT32 format. NTFS should have been used in the Camry, as it was released in Autum 2001.
New Bare stick, 32gb is the limit, formated FAT32 without the aid of another formating program. A 32 GB stick runs about $50 now, and the one I bought, the Sandisk, will not work. I have yet to find a 32gb that will, due to the cost of trial and error.
A 32GB stick has to formatted FAT32, 2011 Camry has a 999 folder limit, 255 files per folder limit. Camry's have a 65,025 song limit. @6MB per song the ideal hard drive would be a 400GB drive, closest match is a 320gb yeilding 53,000 6MB songs. A 32gb stick would hold about 5,300 6mb songs.

So your saying that a harddrive will work with the camry's usb port?

YES! It works! It must be formatted as a FAT32 drive, and to get full use of all the space, you must get the free program FAT32FORMATTEREN or equivivent off the web, and extend the 32gb natural limit of FAT32 system. That program works well and is easy to use. I advise a 320gb for full use or 500gb with some unsed space, depending on cost. 2.5" drives are spinning drives, and can take some shock and movement but not much.
