Gen5 just....wow

every day i get flamed for having a camry. i think its sad, because you can make them just as fast as any civic, or even corvettes. (good job Camry2NR!) but my point is, they're dependable and cheaply priced and pretty quick, even stock. so why do people hate on them? for example with the reliability thing, i just saw one that looks exactly like mine on ebay motors but its a 2002 with 278,849 miles! i was absolutely floored. share your thoughts because i wonder who else feels the same way i do.

the old models look like made for grandma. Gen 6 looks better but problems after problems.

I Haters.

Who cares what people think?

Last weekend at the track 2 people asked me if my car was an ES...and another if it was the new Legacy.... shocked when i said Camry... But also pleasantly surprised.

The Gen 3 and Gen 5 Camry's are the best looking and most reliable on the road to date though. IMO

I had the choice between a brand new 2011 WRX and a used 2009 Blue Ribbon metallic Camry SE V6. Obviously, I went with the Camry and I love it; traded my 2009 Civic for the Camry

My friends ask me why and I just hammer it or show them the features and they say "Oh thats why...damn." There are haters for every car, sometimes you just gotta show them why you chose it and if they still don't see why, just let it go.

I agree. I love my Camry. I read many reviews, and there are many bad ones, espeically on Yahoo site. If you guys can read their reviews about the Camry, most good reviews about the Camry have more "not useful" than "useful".

there are haters for every car out there...actually most haters just hate everything that isn't what they think is best or what they drive or what they tune.

i appreciate anyone who has a passion for cars, and that passion takes many different forms, including some that i do not share nor understand.

would i ever buy a camry and modify it? no, but i don't see a camry that way. i would never modify my wrx and there is a huge cult-like following for wrx tuners out there. different strokes for different folks, but it's the passion and love of cars that matters.

there will always be some prodding and poking, but as long as it is done in good fun it's part of the passion. haters will always be around dissing on everything that isn't what they think is the best.

Yeah, I get teased all the time by friends and coworkers about driving an "old man car" but I don't care. My 2010 SE 4cyl suits me just fine.

Besides, I can always take the Honda S2000 out if I feel the need. (which i've only done once since I got the camry)

I think I've only been made fun of once with the Camry, and I've had it for a year. I mostly get a lot of "That's a cool looking car!" believe it or not....

wow guys.......thanks for the support. honestly if they werent so far away, id take them for a little ride in my camry. the first time i actually got on the throttle i scared myself, sad to say. but now i just do it for fun. in fact, i might feed my camry an accord for breakfast tomorrow morning oh and it was a grandma's car: my grandma owned it before i got it so, yeah lol. p.s. ive been meaning to ask: what will a stock 2AZ camry do in the 1/4 mile? just wondering so i can surprise some haters. (hopefully). thanks!
