gen 5 DIY Fog light install problem :(

i realize that this has been talked about alot in the past and i have used the search on the forum i have come across these two posts

Aftermarket Standalone Fog Light DIY + New Grille...
2002 camry LE 4cyl aftermarket foglight installation

i have been using the later of the two. I have got the fog lights hooked up with the pre wired harness and have them screwed into the slots. The problem i am having is when it comes to the electrical. I have found pin 10 and 11 i cut the two wires. I connected the two wires together and this did not make the fog lights turn on. I then re attached the wire back to normal and added the switch wires around them this did not work either. I don't know what i'm doing wrong and any info would be greatly appreciated

are the fuse and relay present for the fogs? my 2005 was prewired, but it did not have the relay or switch on the headlight stalk.

the fuse is there. I had to wire the switch which i think is the problem but i have not checked the relay since its behind the fuse panel and I don't know how to get to it.

you can wire the switch as many different ways as you want, but if the relay is not present it won't work. check that the relay is there... you will need to take the dash trim off and the metal support bar behind the dash trim off to access the back of the fuse panel.

you will have to lie on your back to really see it, unless you're really flexible. if you're a big guy like me, it's still going to be a tight fit even with the dash trim removed and the seat all the way back.
