Need a tech's advice

my 03' camry has engine light on with a code p0121?

when i pull out to drive it will not accelerate when i mash the pedal.

It just coasts but maintains idle. rpm's don't fluctuate (1000 rpm's). i mash the gas to the floor and nothing. it will go up to about 2500 rpm's if I'm in park or neutral.

whats up!

p0121 is the code for the throttle position sensor, which means that it is most likely malfunctioning.

if your TPS isn't working properly, the ecu doesn't know that there is supposed to be more air entering the engine, which means that the rpms also won't go up

remove the TPS and run diagnostics on it. if it's no good, then replace it

unfortunately, that I can't help you with.....my mom has an 03 camry, but I haven't touched the tps sensor on that car, so I can't reliably tell you where it is.

somebody on this forum with a haynes manual should be able to help you out on that one

sounds like your trottle body needs is no good. There are to tp sensor in the throttle body which the ECU compare the voltages to make sure its working correctly. One of them must be bad causing to car to be in limp mode. Just make sure all the fuse under the hood are good since one of them power just the tp. if so you need a new one recommend a junk yard unit dealer price are a little up there
