5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I had that unit and bought it in February. I got a SquareTrade extended warranty with it and it was the best 47 bucks I spent because I already used it and got my money back for the unit.
I didnt like the fact that when in USB, iPod or CD/DVD mode when the car was turned off the movie would start from the beginning. The song it was playing on the cd would do the same. In iPod mode if you where playing a playlist it would start from the very first song you had. Wouldnt remember the playlist or song playing, just start over. The navigation stopped working after a while and it would trip out a lot! They where more than willing to send me a new unit (AT MY EXPENSE! Had to pay for shipping to them and for return shipping) and when I got that new one within an hour it was doing the same. They offered to give me a new one again but also at my expense. Either I could drive to them so they can swap it out or this time they would send me shipping labels. Im not saying they are bad units cuz last time i did my comment got erased but thats just my experiences with it.

When another unit does the same thing, well that kinda say it's bad. Unless your luck is super super bad that U just happen to pick 2 random unit and both were bad. LOL

I really appreciate the review...... I was about to order one of those but then I thought of checking back at the forum....is there any gps that you recommend over this??
Why do people use these things when massively superior software exists either free on your iPhone or for $50?
You see I don't have an iPhone and I also had invested in an 200 dollar tomtom ended up giving it away because it was nt user friendly.... Came across a couple of these aftermarket NAVis online luka like a steal at just 150 more than the tomtom n with extra features

Im thinking of just going the tomtom/garmin route and just spend the rest of the money on other mods for my car.
Really? Right now Fry's has a TomTom for 179 with liftime maps and traffic updates.
A Magellan for 119 with lifetime map updates and a Garmin for 129 with liftime traffic updates and all have around a 5" screen.
The eresin has worked very well for me no problems what so ever.
