car shakes when idle

The entire car shakes when idle and sometimes when breaking...what causes this? 07 Cam CE

Seems like the engine mounts..or the IAC (Idle air control valve)

Well the best thing is to "feel" for the noise. Try to listen and feel where its coming from. You can check this yourself. There should be three or four motor mounts. I am really not sure about that model year. Do a little research on google before you drop money on a mechanic.

it was shaking this afternoon when it was 106 degrees outside. Now that its 12:30am and 79 degrees its fine... Any thoughts?

maybe your air conditioner lol. you will get a little feel of your motor working harder and maybe a little jump in your RPM when idling by turning on the A/C but it shouldnt be a really bad shake. like the other guy said maybe your IAC but then I think you would get a check engine light.

Unplug ur battery for 1 hr, reconnect it and drive it around town for a while n let it idle with the A/C on for a while too.

Sometimes it fixes itself by resetting the ECU, I know mine did.
