5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I need to run 5mm spacers in the rear of my 6th gen camry so my wheels can clear the struts and I cannot find the extended studs that I need to get a safe amount of turns for the lug nuts. I need 50mm or longer studs and I cannot find them to save my life! Please, if this has been discussed before please just direct me there but I am going crazy trying to find the info. I know the dimensions of our stock studs even. Any and all help is, as usual, much appreciated.
No, lol, not at all. They are wheels that were being run on a lexus GS300 or 430, not sure, but I know they fit the car (they are on it right now) but the wheels are 19X9 in the rear, so they dont clear the strut. They look awesome and I finally got the right tires on and everything, but I had to run a 1" hubcentric spacer in the rear only with studs because I couldnt find the studs to run the smaller spacer which is all I need. But now the ones in the back are out more than I would like and so Im back to the search, lol. Thanks for your reply, do you know that those studs work?? And I've never heard of lug nuts like that..sounds like a definite option, are they legit?
only one problem: they all got A-corn shaped bases, not flat seated like for lexus and newer toyota wheels.

I can't guarantee those are the right studs, but those should be them. I'm running the same lugs on my car right now and they work perfectly. Plus they act like wheel locks also since they're spline drive...unless the thief has a spline key lol

Hmm..they definetly are not the same specs as our stock studs, but if you're running them then they must be ok..right? lol. And you're saying those lugs wouldnt work then right? The wheels arnt stock lexus wheels or anything, do all wheels that fit lexus have to use a certain lug? or could they be the right ones anyways

Are studs something that have to be 100% the exact same dimensions to work? As in the knurl diameter, length, etc. or is it more about the 12x1.5 and then be close with everything else? If thats the case then I'm golden lol. But that seems sketchy
save yourself the hassle. If you running a 5mm spacer your not gonna need extended studs. I think 8mm is pushing it but 10mm is unsafe. You know that when you get extended studs you also need to buy extended lug nuts or open ended lug nuts.

Like ming said, save yourself the hassle. Buy wheels for your car, not a car for your wheels. Look more into offset, width, and diameter of wheels.
just buy a 5mm spacer. you should be just fine on the stock studs.
and don't let these idiots give you crap about "buying wheels for your car" when all they want is to be hellaflush with wheels that weren't intended for a camry, just like you, me, and almost everyone here.
the fact that you're doing research on studs, spacers, tire sizes, etc... shows that you already know more than most of the people on here.

I am assuming you all know a lot more than the guy who was helping me get the wheels on my car but he said with a 5mm spacer we were only able to get about 3 turns of the lug with the stock stud.. All I need is 5mm so is that safe or not? I am hearing yes but was also told no..should I try to run those ET lugs to be safe? Thanks to everyone who is trying to help..and I already have the wheels and tires on the car, I am just trying to run smaller spacers in the back.
Btw what offset are the 19x9s and tire size you have? Just curious on what fits.
Fronts are 19X8 +40, rears are 19X9 +46. The will look even better if I can get the rears a little more flush, they are kind of sticking out right now. I will post pics for yall soon, I think they look purty good. I'm running TRD springs too (in case anyone was wondering)lol
