not exactly. heat gun is more like a profession heavy duty blow dryer. but a normal household blow dryer would work too but I think you need to hold it longer because it doesn't put out as much heat a normal heat gun would.

I can't help you there. I never installed them. I just blacked out my headlights, retrofitted, and called it a day. lol. I was never too fond of the eyelid look. but good luck with them.
