2011 Camry XLE leather package pricing

My wife and I are looking into buying a new Camry but the XLE models are scarce on the lots of our local dealers. I decided to toy around with the "build your own" option of most of the Toyota dealer websites.

I thought the layout was pretty cool but they really do need to have pictures or (better) detailed descriptions of a lot of the options. It would especially be helpful when it comes to the interior and body trim options. If anyone knew of a link that went into greater detail of the trim options that would be cool.

I was wondering though on the pricing of the leather options at some dealer websites. They have an option of leather seats with heated seat option, and leather door trim with integral armrests for $740. They also have another package to choose from that offers leather seats and door trim with integral armrests for $1080 with no mention of heated seat option. I was thinking this had to be a typo but I've seen the same price at more than one dealer. I also noticed the sites would let you pick a package then when you proceeded to the list of individual options, would let you add the same items that you got in the package and tack on the price. It could be very easy for someone to double pay for options if they weren't careful. I would hope the dealership would catch that and make the correction but i guess that would come down to the individual!

btw....first post! Love the site. Lots of good info in here!

Thanks
Dan

Hold out for the 2012. The new interiors are going to be the best Quality ever. The new "leather look" seat covers are cost cutting and weight saving to pass onto Camry buyers.
Wait a couple months. You'll be glad you did.

the dealers lot may be scarce of what you want, but they can call up the 'holding area" or whatever its called...distribution center..?? and check out if the car you want is there, then get it for you...

otherwise, the year probably has already changed as far as building cars, and they may be building the 2012's now...it is a good time to get a good deal on left over 2011's...but you may not have color choice, or the options you want, but close to it though.

Leather isn't standard on the XLE, but very, very, VERY few XLE's are built without leather. And I have yet to see an XLE with leather that DOESN'T have heated seats.

Like everyone's been saying, the 11's are scarce now because the 12's are being built now, and the 12 is an all-new generation with a completely re-vamped interior (can you say two-tone interior with stitching on the dash???).

P.S.: I work at a dealership, just so you know.

Really? I thought leather was standard on the 2011 XLE with the V6??

I just thought it was odd when looking over the option list for the XLE with the 4cyl and the leather package WITH heated seats was cheaper than the leather seats without. My question was basically if that was a typo or do they offer two different seat types and the heated leather seats were cheaper quality or something?

I believe we will hold off at least until the unveiling of the 2012 tomorrow before we make a decision. Second thought.. Might wait until we can see one in person before deciding!!

Thanks all!!

I have yet to see a Camry with leather without heated seats. I had no idea it was even a possibility.

I agree-wait until you can see one in person and drive one before you decide. There are some pictures of the 2012 in the 2012 Camry thread, a lot of people aren't happy because it's fairly similar to the exterior of the 2011 Camry, but the interior is VASTLY different.

I believe you're correct with the V6 XLE having standard heated leather seats. The 4 cyl XLE is available with cloth but I've never seen one. I think any option package on the 4 cyl upgrades the seats to leather. There are different option packages available in different parts of the country, especially the southeast. Southeast Toyota is an independently owned distribution network (all others are owned by the corporation) and has very different port installed options than the rest of the country. They offer port installed leather packages that are not the same as factory leather. All factory leather in Gen 6's are heated as far as I know.

P.S.: The MSRP on the 2012 Camry XLE 4 cyl. is $2000 less than the 2011.

Besides being lighter, faster, better mpg and having the sweet looking new interior. Now that I've seen it, I'd wait for the new one if I was in the market.
