A/C troubles

Hello toyota friends,I am a mechanic who had the pleasure of repairing a Solara 2004.First of all,I love my friends vehicle, her camry kicks butt.I repaired her A/C and I want to share my experience with you all.I traced the problem of the flashing green light of death to a bad connection on the ECM,wich is located on top of interior fusebox under the dash beside the drivers door. The connections are needle thin and are subject to knocks and humidity. The wire in question is light blue with a white line and double silver dots along its length. It arrives from the diode located in the master fuse and relay box close to the battery. The circuit comes from the MG CLT relay which is to say magnetic clutch on the A/C compressor. That relay was replaced by an incompetant yahoo and sells for $120 from the dealer.Needless to say he put a wrong relay in its place. The correct relay has the number 90987-02028 stamped on it.I hope this info will save save a lot of heartaches for everyone who reads this,I will keep in touch.

Good job!!!!!!!! The MG CLT relay P# could go a couple different ways. The parts dept may not hand out the 028, (tsb P#) but the other one should do just fine too.
Yes, those microscopic connector pins wouldn't take much to cause open circuits.
Always remember the ECM in these dilemma's. Excellent work

Thanx

Thank you for the compliment,I just received the relay from an online parts store.I ordered the clutch relay without telling them the number and they sent me the exact one(028) for $45.37 cdn including shipment, far better than $120 the dealer quoted. To let you know a bit more info,I had worked at a Kia dealer and had the same issues with the ECM terminals. The procerdure was to replace the female terminal, yeah right! The special crimping tool would ratchet as you squeezed the handle and only release when fully closed. Trouble is,it would squeeze so hard it would cut the wire.I liked Dodges approach better, they sell the terminal with a length of wire already crimped on.
