Instrument cluster 2002 camry

The speedometer/tachometer/gauges on my 2002 Camry LE quit working. Checked fuzes, etc. Nothing. Took to dealer. Instrument cluster bad. needs replacing. $450 for new module. I decided to replace with used or repair. Searched websites. Found place in MA that repairs instrument clusters with lifetime warranty. Sent mine to them. Unrepairable. So back to web sites for used. Found one that will fit my Camry but the Web site people say my computer will have to be reflashed/upgraded/etc. Anybody have any experience with installing a used instrument cluster and reflashing the computer. Any way around this?

The cost to reflash your PCM isn't very high-about the price of a diagnostic fee ($70-$120). It's really not that bad if you think about it.

I don't know if there's a way around it....I know that when I install the engine/trans/harness/PCM from a 2002 Mustang into my 1995 Mustang, I will have to upgrade from my 95's cluster to the 2002 cluster for it to even function.

2002 camry speedometer repair

arabianobsession; You are right, the cost is not too bad. I think that's what I'll do.
