2010 Brakes (Not The Same ?? As the Other Threads)

There are two current threads about 2010 brakes. One is replacing the rear and one is replacing the front (rotors and all). The front thread says it is only a daily driver to and from work, school, etc.

My question is how do you wear out the brakes that quick? I have a 2010 with 29K+ miles and the brakes are still in tip-top shape. Is it abuse?, is it quick panic like stops from 70-80MPH?, I am curious. I have never (had a car since 1956) worn out brakes that quick except when I was racing and then only on the race cars.

If it's a bunch of city miles, then brake wear would be high. Also, perhaps the brakes were the suspect of a shake in the steering wheels due to warped rotors. That could also be the reason as to they're replacing brakes.

That I can understand. But for the front rotors on a '10? My thoughts are that 1) 99.99% of all new cars will have good rotors 2) Rotor warpage is 99.99+% caused by excessive heat 3) Excessive heat is caused by either, riding the brake = abuse, clamping the brakes from high speed, or 4) in rare cases a stuck caliper. If you ride the brakes or routinely drive very fast and clamp the brakes, you will get rotor warpage.

I find that contemplating why people have troubles with their cars is far better than contemplating my naval.

Gator, I am close to your generation, have been driving a long time, and a couple million miles given odometer readings. My 07 Camry has just under 42k miles on it. I live one mile from work. I've never had warped rotors, but this car had warped rotors and needed to be replaced. The cheap after markets work just fine and offer no additional problems. Toyota's rotor supplier needs to be dumped.

LOL.. it's where and how the person drive. Lots of city = lots of stop and go.

But several times I've drove on highway and see there is a car with it's brake light keep coming on every 2 or 3 sec and go off for another 2 or 3 sec. Traffic was flowing smoothly and not like they were tailgating the car in front. How did these idiots is the winner in the sperm race but there they are on the highway doing 65mph just like everyone else the whole 20mins but their brake light is the only one coming on/off every 3sec. I wonder how often these idiots change their brake.
