Gen6 air filter bolting

I have a problem bolting on my air filter. The bolt wont catch, nothing broke and its in the hole. maybe the small gray cylinder thing that was in the screw hole is the problem, nothing is stripped. it just wont catch! I took it off to check the filter, cause toyota said it needed to be replaced, but of course it was fine.. i just need the cover back on,, 2007 camry 4 cyl

Had the same problem with my 07 4 cylinder when I changed out ther air filter. Had to use considerable downward pressure to get the bolt to catch the mating female threads, but eventually it did catch.

Make sure the hooks on the left side are really connected and sitting right.
