2007 Camry Dash Crack near the Driver Center A/C Vent.
Hey just wondering if any of you guys have a crack on your dash? Check them out. it's a tiny little crack barely visible. I went to the dealer cause I know them really good, and my friend from warranty took pictures and then a couple of days later he called me to let me know that the Japanese from Toyota came to Puerto Rico to verify some claims about the 2007 Camry's with a crack. He tld me they came to verify cause it wasn't happening in the states. Then he told that they are doing a study and that they may be exchanging my Dash under some kind of recall. Like the Siennas, Highlanders, Avalon, etc. that there dash crack. Please let me know anything if you guys know something.
2007 Camry XLE to much money here in PR for a dash to crack in less than 5 years. Thanks!!!!!:headbang ::headbang ::headbang :
U got a pic of this? Mine doesn't have crack at all, unless u axe the damn thing..
Yeah!!!! I'll post them tomorrow. The Dealer told they are going to change it. they said something about the material they use to these dash apparently. Since it is so fucking hot in PR. But I haven't use mine for a month since I was using my 09 Corolla S, and when I went to detailed it I found the tiny crack. They told me that the Avalon, Sienna, Highlander and now the Camry are having this issues. Don't know but I'll keep the updates.
How I'm going to axe a freaking car that cost $32,000 in PR. I think I'm going to buy another TL after my 6 months left on this one. Will see!! I like this car a lot, but that's freaking crazy for a dash to have a crack in less than 5 years, especially been all the time in the garage since I'm retired from the Service and don't work. It only goes to my daughter school and VA hospital. And this past month I haven't use it at all.
i use dash specific products that are supposed to keep them "conditioned". i do not use ANY high gloss products. usually a "satin" finish like "Black Magic Natural Finish"...then i use a sun-shield as well, and keep my windows open enough for air flow. it has been a very long time since i have heard of dashboards cracking, but i ain't about to say it never does, as you have it now.
once you get the new dashboard, do what you will to protect it from the damaging sun. yes, it very well may be the material they used, no doubt, but maybe the people that do not "condition" their dashboards are hastening the cracking..??? those "conditioners" might be of some help.
by the way, if a person uses a "high gloss" product, what this does is reflects the sun on the dash right up into the windshield, making it very difficult to see out the windshield.
some people also buy that carpeted dash cover, but they look kinda lousy, and do not always fit nicely.
All year around it's hot, but summer months from around April to September it could go up to 110 degrees F. Winter like from October to maybe February if lucky it cool be a little cooler around 80 to 90's. It's really freaking hot. This summer been one of the hottest.

It's has industrial tint of 40% all around the car, plus the windshieldsun protector every time I go out. Plus I know about treatment cause my part time job when I was in the US Navy before my retirement was detailing cars. I use for the dash Pinnacle Vinyl & Rubber Protectant. For the paint I use Klasse AIO, Pinnacle Souveran Wax, Pinnacle Cleanser, Sonus clay, etc. It's alright it happens to me they are going to change it. So I keep updates for you guys. Just be aware if it does take it.
It's not a freaking Volcano man!!!! Be real. We are talking about stuff that happened or we do to our cars man.

With those stuff u should be ok. I'm sure it's just factory defect cause here in my area it gets really hot during the summer too, everyday is above 100.
