Back up Camera

So I installed a new head unit. Clarion NX501. I love it. But I have a few questions. I wired up a rear camera but when I put the car in reverse it dont come on. It only comes on when I hit the camera function. Any suggestions? Also does anyone know how to wire it up so the dvd player will work while the car is in drive? Thanks .

Well thats how most clarions are set up itll only work with backup cameras that are made for that specific tv and made by clarion i have a max675vd and also have the rearview camera, i got off ebay, and it only shows the image when i go to that function, now regarding your parking brake grounding which is what you need to get the dvd working while driving, its against the law thats why it wont play video just audio, to make it work you can try to connect a relay which grounds the tv it self all the time, a relay is a automatic swich so itll reground the tv everytime the car is turned off and on, if you dont use a relay you can just connect a switch and manually do it everytime you wat it to play dvds.
