Hello, I have an 02 camry that the Piezo Chirper/Buzzer stopped working on. The part is around $100 at the dealer and they need to order it. I know because I went to the dealer to see what it looked like so I could find it under my hood.
If you don't know what the Piezo is, it's the part that makes the soft chirp when you arm and disarm the factory alarm with the OEM keyless remote FOB.
So if anyone has a picture of the Piezo or knows exactly were it's located on the 2002 camry, please let me know. I want to check the part to confirm its bad before spending $100 on a new one if it isn't needed.
If you don't know were it's located and if you feel up to running to your car, popping the hood and listen for the chirp it makes, so you can to see where the chirp is coming from and what Piezo looks like I would greatly appreciate it. thanks

it is located at the left front corner (driver's side) under the headlight area just behind the front bumper area. you may have to remove the plastic pan under the front fascia (Bumper)... personally, i have disconnected it myself..i hate that insipid noise....

LE, thanks. At least now I have an idea what to look for.
Glenn, LE's chart shows the part on the right side, your sure it's the left, right? And from what I think your telling me I need to lay on my back and remove the black plastic shield that covers the underside of the front end, right?

that diagram is probably not the best indicator of where it actually is, i'd go by Glenn's description. I vaguely remember seeing something similar on the driver's side when i had the bumper off last year.

that's where mine was, drivers side, left front corner, just under the headlight area...yes, you have to remove the plastic under the front of the car, either while laying on your back, or if you can get to a garage with a lift, have them put it up in the air for you.....i just unplugged mine, and then i put some electrical tape on the plug to keep water from getting into it...
it will look like a tiny speaker. two wires going into it, i cannot remember the color of those wires however.

Ok, I just took the splash shield off and came across the airbag sensor which I know it is an airbag sensor because it says so right on it. And the other one I don't know what it's for because it has no markings. It's made out of plastic and it's black. It's about 2" long and a little under 1/2" thick. It has a harness with two wires coming out. I think it was connected to the upper support frame for the bumper cover? I will have to take a better look to see if there is a speaker in there. Doe's this sound like the piezo buzzer to you?
look at the schematics, if the original buzzer is 12v then replace with any other 12vdc buzzer from radio shack, it should cost aroung $5-10. the sound will be different but who cares.

lol... I'll look into this as well. I could use the $90 in my pocket...
All right, I took a picture of what I know isn't the piezo but I'm really hoping it is. I can't see a speaker on the thing, that's why I say it's not it.
Anyone confirm this for me?
It's located on the driver side - under the left headlight to the inside of it above the bumper cover and is actually mounted to the bumper support frame rail and the tip of the plastic part is facing the front of the car and would be pretty much were a speaker would be mounted so the sound could be heard from the front of the grill area.
no that ain't it...if you were to look behind that thing, maybe with a mirror, you would see a hole dead center of the round rear end, that would be where the sound comes from..that is a sensor, what kind of sensor, maybe the outside air temp..??? but that is not the noise box....
but you are in the general area....look up under the battery box as well....all in that left front corner area, yours may be even a bit round. mine was square (ish)....mine was rather easy to find, since your car is a few years older, they may have it in the same general area, just not the exact location.
