Installed 2010 VFD Radio on 2009 Car

Hey everyone,

I didnt see any threads on here confirming (only speculation) this so this thread is to confirm. You CAN install a non JBL 2010 VFD radio on a 2009 non JBL Camry. It probably will work with a JBL to JBL swap or non JBL to JBL (with extra equipment of course). Everything was straight plug and play and everything worked properly. I love the VFD display and it was only a $139 dollar upgrade (from a new car). I intend to add factory bluetooth as well as USB interface to the car. If you would like to help me find parts, please PM me.

Here are some pics

UDPATE:
Turns out the blue port on the back is for XM radio & the 8 pin one is for "accessories". If I want to add BT, I would need to plug in the mic there. Will keep everyone posted.

Also, I have indeed verified that the HVAC controls for the 2010+ is white (when not lit) instead of the teal that the 2007-2009 has. I purchased one from ebay, hope it works with the 2009!

I can take more pics during my lunch today. I had the very base radio so I did not have any additional features. Here are the new features that are now supported with the new radio:

1) Bluetooth support
2) XM support
3) USB/AUX support
4) Much better screen, no more orange calculator looking text.
5) The very teal screen has gone down. This is a tolerable teal.

I believe it should work for 07 as well. I would do some research before buying the parts if I were you. The seller I bought from had said it will work for 2007-2009. It was on ebay.

How does it support USB/AUX? Does it have a USB port in the back?

Everything that I had prior to the upgrade works! AM/FM/AUX/CD. The only things that dont work (and for obvious reasons) are XM, USB, and Bluetooth.

Also, for the USB support, once the connector is purchased, a harness needs to be purchased. The harness for the AUX/USB connector has an extra wire to transfer the USB data to the head unit. I am 99% sure that the harness with USB wire will plug into where the AUX only wire goes.

Does anyone know what the two ports circled in this picture are? I assume one is for the XM antenna but am not sure. PS: This is the back of the new radio I got.

The color of the radio is actually teal, not blue like it shows in the picture.
