Gen5 Convertible top replacement

Got an '05 on which the top is showing some wear and should probably be replaced soon. (Florida Sun)

Anyone been through this experience? Had good experiences with a shop -- preferably in the SE USA? Approximate cost?

TIA!

SE USA is kind of broad. It's like saying you are within 1000 miles of Orlando. Get in the phone book and find shops that do convertible tops. Then, Google those names and read comments and reviews on the work quality. You don't have to know people these days. You just need to know where to look to get good and bad comments.

Gosh, Dad, none of those things would have ever occured to me w/o your splendid "help".

Lemmie put the hay down where the goats can get it: if there's anyone who has actually had a convertible top replaced on a Toyota Solara and if they've had it done by a shop in the SE USA, drop me a note.

On the other hand, if all you have is the level of experience that suggests google and the phone book as a source, please move on to the air freshener thread, or better yet, the "which oil is better: dino or synthetic" thread where you'll be better received and your "expertise" more valued.

I think you just messed up. You posted a note and in 12 hours on a weekend received no specific responses. My suggestion was just that, a suggestion, and it was not written in a rude manner nor was rudeness implied, but I can assure you that I will note not to respond to any further questions posted by you in the future. By referring to meas Dad, I presume you view yourself as a bastqrd of some sort? Regrettable for sure......

Perhaps there is a god. To be deprived of your suggestion to use a phone book and Google is a price I'm eternally prepared to pay.

As for messing up, I'd be surprised if anyone on this forum has ever had a top replaced; however, if, in the unlikely event someone who knows what they're talking about responds, that'll be great.

That said, if all it does is scare up your sort -- a sort that apparently thinks all posts are addressed to him perosnally -- than it certainly will have been a waste of keystrokes.

Lastly, I referred to you as "Dad" because your addressing a question to which you don't know the answer portrays you as an old geezer with lots of time on his hands.
