Brake Light Keeps Burning Out

Help TN!

I have 2005 Camry SE. The drivers side brake light keeps buring out about every 2 weeks.

When I take the bulb out is is milky white and usually has a hole blown in it. I noticed the taillight assembly even has a small burn mark inthe reflective silver.

When I replace the bulb I am careful to not get any fingerprints on it.

Any ideas? Thanks

Take a look at the bulb contacts in the housing. If they are corroded, they are creating resistance when powered, and this will in turn generate heat which eventually kills the bulb. Clean the contacts if they are oxidized and things should beg better. Fingerprints on the tail light bulb should not be an issue.

Bulbs are actually made to withstand heat.

That might be either a bad bulb or a wrong bulb. Double check it with bulb chart in the back of your owners manual.

Good luck,
Sam
