Intermittant Vibration

Sorry if this has been covered previously. I searched the archives and couldn't find anything that matched my issue.

Periodically, when traveling at a constant rate of speed (so far, only noticed at highway speeds) my steering wheel vibrates and the front tires feel like I'm driving over rumble strips. Like I said, this is a periodic thing. It happens when I use the cruise control AND when I don't, but only when I've been traveling for at least five miles or so. If I can grip the steering wheel long enough, the vibration will stop for a while, but almost always comes back.

I've had my tires balanced and re-checked someplace else. No change.

I have an '07 Camry XLE with 94,000 miles. Current tires have approximately 15,000 miles of wear, but this issue only came about within the previous 8,000 or so.

I've thought about bad balancing, bad tires, struts, etc. However, the problem is not constant. It comes and goes.

Thanks in advance.

The only time I had a problem like that it turned out to be bad wheel bearings. Most of the time everything was fine but once in a while something about the pavement, speed, etc would cause a little vibration which got worse over time. Even took it to an front end shop and asked them to see what they could find and they came up with nothing. Nearly a year later I almost lost a wheel. But this was on a rear wheel drive truck so I can't say that's your problem. However I would suspect something's slightly worn and when conditions are just right the extra 'play' sets up that vibration.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I can be of real help because I'm just throwing in my 2 cents and it's probably not worth that.

A Camry is very sensitive with regard to vibration. Tires are very important in this. You can check this very easy. Just change your front wheels with your backwheels. Then you know for sure if this is an tire issue.
Good luck

I forgot to mention something. Whenever I have the vibration problem and I either cancel the cruise control or take my foot off the pedal, the vibration goes away immediately.
