a/c blowing warm

on our 2006, 4cyl, with 70K miles...
was driving along, and noticed some mist coming out of the vents...shortly thereafter it started blowing warm.

I checked the compressor, and it's clutch is engaging fine...so I'm thinking it has good pressure/freon and does not have a leak?

any ideas?

mist is no good news...no a/c will "mist" out of the ducts..the a/c compressor WILL cycle as it's trying to push the remaining freon/oil mix through the system.

either the evaporator sprung a leak, or the fitting on it loosened up. i'm going "sprung a leak"..

you need to get this checked out. a leak detector dye will be put in, recharged and cycled, then the tech will use a "sniffer" that will pick up traces of freon...

best bet is to NOT run the a/c till you get this checked out..just the mere fact it's blowing warm...??? it's empty...

Mist? Warm Air? Same things were the symptoms on my '99 Sable and my '99 F150. Leaking heater core in both cases. When it mists, what does the mist smell like? Anti-freeze?

i did also think heater core, but the a/c is blowing warm air. the a/c would have over come that warm air though...but it could very well be that heater core, so he will need to check his radiator over flow tank as well.
