Hi Folks, What parts produce the 10 hp difference between a stock LE and a stock SE Gen 6 Camry? Exhaust? Just curious. God Bless, Marc

This topic has been discussed before. Please use the search function in the future

Anyway, I believe the difference is the tuning from the factory.

It's likely just a slightly more aggressive mapping in the ecu. The dual exhaust splits too far back to have any huge effect.

^I think you're correct. It wasn't until 2010 when the engines were changed that the SE got 179 hp over the LE/XLE 169 hp.

It was also 2010 when they came out with dual pipes for the 4 CYL SE. Maybe that's it? However the 2012 has 178 with single...

LOL guys you're not going to feel any difference from a 10 horsepower improvement...

You will probably feel more of an improvement if you simply reduce your car's weight. For instance, take out any crap from your trunk, seat pockets...heck even lose some weight yourself!

I'm sure they could have if they wanted, but you're forgetting that 2007-2009 had a different 4 cyl. engine than the 2010-2011 models....the 2.4 rated at (158? I think) horsepower.

I believe all 2AZ's from 2002-2009 had 158hp. I know for sure the 2002-2006 had 158, and I don't think they changed it for the gen 6.
