Gen5 coolant with engine oil?!! help..tnx

did a swaped with new radiator today cuz it has 2 cracks left and ride side (top black long piece)...
after taking off the old radiator (after the flush)o .we planed to flush the entire cycle ...Put water hose on one hose that goes to the engine....what happned...water comin out on the same hose with engine oil!! why is that?
might be a broken gasket inside?
is that why the radiator got cracked in it?

any posibility thats broken?
does it gives engine light on??

well first let's look at possibilities...

ONE...the transmission cooler lines ALSO go into the radiator, so i would CHECK the fluid level of the tranny. if it is milky white, you now have a blown (or soon to be blown) tranny.

TWO...if IT IS engine oil, that too would be of a milky white color, as oil has detergents in it...now what can possibly be a problem here..??

1) blown head gasket

2) cracked cylinder head

3) cracked block

once it is determined EXACTLY what type of "oil" you have seen, you then may have to tear down the engine. even IF it is a blown head gasket...?? you STILL NEED to have the cylinder head checked by a shop for cracks, and warpage. DO NOT just put on a new head gasket..!!!

it will be (or can be) a long process of checking things, so do not rush it....

there are just too many variables that could have happened.

if your car has an automatic, the you should indeed have coolant lines from the transmission going into the radiator at the bottom of the radiator. inside the radiator tank, you will have metal lines that are in the cooler end of the radiator. those lines can rot out if the coolant isn't the correct mixture, or if it is worn out. the ending result will be the coolant will eat away (rot out) the transmission coolant lines. they are the very same metal as the rest of the radiator, which can be aluminum../???

so check the transmission fluid..as i said earlier....if it's milky white, then the transmission will be toasted as well. there "may be" a slight chance that having the transmission flushed (with a machine), "might" work......but it's no guarantee.

then the other things i had mentioned earlier...so correct diagnostics are needed here.

the engine in there has a known problem of head bolts failing. Which in turn blows the head gasket.

you might want to drain the oil and check for coolant. if you see milky oil, then its probably the head bolts/head gasket issue-- just don't drive the car until you figure it out cuz you could make it worse.. fixing the head bolts isn't that bad, there are plenty of write-ups on here..

either way, sorry to hear about the bad luck
